Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto.
Lions Australia is part of an international association, filled with people who are joined by the common desire to make their communities better, by using their creativity, enthusiasm and energy.
Membership is open to all people in good standing of the community.
The Lions Club of Heathmont Inc was formed on 7th December 1970 by a body of local residents and businessmen interested in the advancement of the community and were prepared to give freely of their time labour and means to ensure that things would happen in this regard. The Club was officially Chartered on 11th March 1971 and has continued to serve the Heathmont community ever since.
Heathmont is approximately 25Km east of Melbourne and was originally noted for it's orchards, although none remain today.
The emblem of the Club is an image of the Heath flower from which the suburb derives it's name with an abstract silhouette of the nearby Dandenong Ranges in the background.
Members enjoy regular meetings and fellowship on the first and third Monday nights each month when we meet at 7.00pm at the Club Kilsyth at the corner of Canterbury and Colchester Roads in the adjacent suburb of Kilsyth. Traditionally, these are dinner meetings, where the day to day business and activities of the Club are discussed and guest speakers are invited to attend to inform us on relevant specialist subjects.
Partners' meetings are a regular feature of our calendar, when husbands, wives, partners and friends of members attend to support and enjoy the achievements of the Club and to participate in social activities.
Intra Club projects also provide the opportunity for social involvement.
