The Lions Club of Heathmont Inc, like most other Clubs, especially in District 201V5, are well to the fore in the times of natural disasters such as floods and bushfires, having sufficient means to organise the dispatch of physical and material assistance as well as monetary contribution at such times as the recent bushfires in the ranges to the east and north east of Melbourne and the floods in Gippsland.
Heathmont has a history of support of the Daffodil Day program and has been a donor to Canteen and Camp Quality.
Prostate Cancer and Drug awareness are other examples of the community interest of Lions clubs.
Children's Mobility has been adopted as a major project of the Club. This program provides children stricken with physical and multiple diseases with walking frames which enable them to stand erect and to walk by themselves. We are proud to have sponsored five such children in recent times, the last as recently as March 2010 at a cost of some $6,000 each.
